Happiness isn’t just luck, it’s a skill you can learn and master. I know, because I did it. And so can you.
Hi, I’m Jenny, the creator of The Happiness Project, a space dedicated to helping you build a happier life.
I’m so glad you’re here. My goal is simple: to make what science knows about cultivating happiness accessible and practical, so you can create the kind of life that makes you wake up smiling.
I’ve long been fascinated by what makes people truly happy, not just brief highs, but the deeper well-being that lasts. Over the years, after studying the research and trying much of it myself, I’ve learned that happiness isn’t something you stumble upon, it’s something you can learn and grow through small, intentional steps.
Across science, psychology, philosophy, spirituality, and even religion, the message is the same: you can cultivate happiness. And that’s exactly why I started this blog, to help you do it, one small step at a time.
I believe everyone can lead a happy life, happiness is a skill you can master. I did it, and so can you.
Thank you for joining me on this journey to make the world a little brighter, through each happy moment we create together.
Jenny

The Moment Everything Changed
When I Learned Happiness Isn’t Found, It’s Built
The Journey That Sparked The Happiness Project
For most of my life, I thought happiness was something that comes naturally. If I just did “the right things” or achieved enough I would have a happy life.
I was succeeding in life, ticking off goals, having a high paid high status job. Yet something was missing. I was’t happy. My days were full, but I wasn’t.
Like many of us, I kept pushing through, thinking that once I finished everything on my to-do list I would eventually get to being happy. Of course, it doesn’t work that way, though it took me a long time to realize that.
I learned my biggest lessons the hard way. First came burnout, when my energy and inspiration ran dry. Soon after came heartbreak, a deep, dark period that left me questioning everything. I felt like life had lost its meaning.
If you’ve ever been there, running on empty, wondering how you lost your spark, you know how heavy it can feel.
One evening, somewhere in that darkness, I made myself a quiet promise: I would find a way to rebuild my happiness, not the kind that depends on someone else or perfect circumstances, but a sustainable kind that I could control.
I began combining everything I knew as a leadership coach with what I was learning from science, psychology, and spirituality. I tried small, daily actions like running, journaling and practicing gratitude.
Little by little, I felt a shift. Happiness wasn’t something I had to wait for anymore, it was something I could create for myself.
That’s how The Happiness Project began. What started as a personal experiment to heal and grow turned into a passion to help others do the same.
Like so many of us, my story isn’t unique, but what I learned through it transformed my life, and that’s exactly why I share it. We all face moments that shake us, but they don’t have to define us.
I’m here to remind you that lasting happiness is within reach, no matter where you’re starting from. The steps that create it aren’t big or complicated, just small, gentle shifts you can start putting into action today.
If you’re ready to begin, the Start Here page will guide you through the first steps, so that you too can build a life rooted in well-being, joy, and peace.
A Shift in Perspective — What Happiness Means to Me Now
I used to think happiness was mostly about excitement, joy, and laughter.
Today, I see it as something deeper and steadier, a calm sense of well-being and satisfaction that runs through everyday life.
For me, happiness is no longer about chasing highs, it’s about feeling grounded, curious, and grateful for the simple moments.
It’s something you can learn and cultivate, a skill you grow through small acts of self-love and awareness.

Let’s make the world a little brighter together
My goal isn’t to preach perfection, it’s to make happiness feel accessible, practical, and real.
Because happiness isn’t something you earn after you’ve done it all, it’s found in how you live each day.
You don’t need a special personality or a perfect life to be happy. Anyone can do it, all it takes is time, curiosity, and the willingness to show up for yourself.
Happiness isn’t a finish line, it’s something you keep nurturing, refueling, and rediscovering as you go.
That’s why I created The Happiness Project, to share the tools, insights, and gentle practices that have helped me and so many others. None of it is complicated, and all of it is free.
So come along. Read, reflect, experiment. Take what resonates and let the rest go.
With small, intentional steps, you can start building a life that feels lighter, calmer, and more joyful.
You deserve to be your happiest version, not because you’ve earned it, not someday, but right now, simply because your human.
Every big change begins with a small choice, the decision to start.
