Well, guys, it looks like we are stuck inside for the long haul. So we might as well get some reading in! Who says you need to leave the house to travel the world? I’m going to list off some “must-reads” to pass the time, novels and series! Let me know in the comments what you are reading to pass the time. 📖

Must read series:
All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. So this series actually started back in 2011 (can you believe it?), but it has gained a lot of traction in the past couple of years. This book is fantastic for your paranormal lovers out there. And it’s a trilogy, so it will keep you busy.
The Lunar Chronicles Boxed Set by Marissa Meyer. Need a YA series in your life? This one has been a favorite for a while. The setting is pretty futuristic, which is a nice break for a YA book. It does have a romantic interest in it, which can satisfy any teenager as well. It has four books to the series, with a bunch of novellas sprinkled in as well.
Outlander 4-Copy Boxed Set: Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon. I have been living for historical fiction lately, so of course, this one is going to be included in this list. This series is long, so you will be covered from the quarantine until probably the end of the summer. 🤣 A little tip though, there is a bit of violence and mentions of rape, so if that isn’t your cup of tea, I wouldn’t recommend it.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. This is a great read for your kiddos, and let’s be real, the kids need all the stuff they can do to keep themselves busy. Perfect size for your tweens, or to read with the entire family, it has the perfect amount of fantasy and real-world lessons to be learned. Honestly, it has been a long time since I read the books, I’ll probably need to pick them up again.
Must read Novels:
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Hosseini has made himself known in the book club world because his books are simply fantastic. I haven’t read this one, but I did read his other well-known book, And The Mountains Echoed and it was amazing! Through powerful words, Hosseini tells a tale of heartbreak, friendship, and redemption. I truly recommend any of his stories.
Charlotte’s Web by E. B White. Fun fact, this is one of my favorite books from my childhood! I can’t tell you how many times I read this book over and over. There are many things I love about this book, like the sweet innocence of Wilbur and his friends, as they try to save Wildbur’s life. Or Charlotte’s sass and wittiness. The charm of small-town country life, or Fern’s coming of age, where she stops playing with her dolls and turns to ride the Ferris Wheel with a boy at the county fair. This is a perfect book for you and your family to read while stuck indoors.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Another favorite of mine, and one that EVERYONE needs to read. I think it is a good enough family read as well. Facing real-world problems like racism, this book is incredibly powerful. Your point-of-view is from a six-year-old Jean Louise Finch, who’s daddy is a well-known lawyer. Growing up with her old brother and father in a small, country town, Jean’s father risks everything to defend a black man accused of a terrible crime. The family faces risks and taunts together, as it was disapproved by the majority of the town for a white man to be a black man’s lawyer. I absolutely love this book. And the best thing, you can watch the movie right after!
